String Quartets

Years ago when I first started studying Classical Music on my own, I wrote 8 String Quartets as “study pieces”.

My purpose was to learn how to compose for strings as a type of “hands-on-method”. With the advent of newer technology (i.e.: the Garritan Personal Orchestra) for the first time I was able to render these much closer to the way they should sound. In all there are 8 Quartets with 3 movements each. I am currently working my way through these old compositions, rendering them with my new software.

When time allows I will make samples of these pieces available. Here is the first for your listening pleasure!
